About HIT Intensive Program in Japanese and Japanese Culture

The 6 week HIT Intensive Program is specially designed for students of theUniversity of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), our partner institution. This program was founded since 2001.

Period

June - July (about 6 weeks) each year

Number of UIUC students to be accepted

About 10 student(minimum number of students for the Program is 6 )

Courses offered

  • (1)30 hours of Japanese (= Elementary Japanese) I; 2 HIT credits
  • 30 hours of Japanese (=Elementary Japanese) II; 2 HIT credits
  • (2)30 hours of Japanese Culture; 2 HIT credits
  • ※No intermediate or advanced Japanese courses are offered
  • ※1 hour = 45 minutes

Activities

Lodging

 Lodging is either HIT Residential Hall or homestay. We ask three volunteer organizations for host families.

This guidebook aims to provide those who will participate in the Intensive Program with the information they may need.
