About HIT Summer Program in Japanese and Japanese Culture

The 6 week HIT Summer Program is specially designed for students of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), Trinity Western University (TWU) and our partner institution. This program was founded since 2001.

Outline

Period

June - July (about 6 weeks) each year

June (about 4 weeks) each year  *TWU students only

Number of UIUC and TWU students to be accepted

For UIUC students - About 10 students (minimum number of students for the Program is 6 )  

For TWU students - About 2 students 

Courses offered

  • 30 hours of Japanese (= Elementary Japanese) I; 2 HIT credits
  • 30 hours of Japanese (=Elementary Japanese) II; 2 HIT credits
  • 30 hours of Japanese Culture; 2 HIT credits
  • ※No intermediate or advanced Japanese courses are offered
  • ※1 hour = 45 minutes

Activities

Lodging

 Lodging is either HIT Residential Hall or homestay. We ask three volunteer organizations for host families.
