Major in Electrical and Electronic Engineering

Students majoring in this course are required to study and research in four fields: Electronic Materials for the purpose of developing new materials and electronic devices; Circuit Engineering aiming at the installation of integrated and high-perfomance circuits; Energy Engineering dealing with improving efficiency of energy technology from generation to transmission; Communication Engineering with emphasis on signal transmission, analysis, processing and application.

Major in Electical and Electronic Engineering

Major in Mechanical Systems Engineering

The aim of this course is to train highly skilled personnel with mastery of "craftsman-like" technology, inheritors of traditional Japanese artisanship. 3 fields constitute a foundation in mechanical engineering: [Structure Function], [Production & Processing] & [Energy Function]. Studied in conjunction with [Systematization Function], acquisition and research of skills in "craftsman-like" technology leading to the intellectually sound high- and multi-function one (machine) will be achieved. Studying Mechanical System as a Total System alongside "Craft" education and research, this course fosters technologists with a sound sense of logic who apprehend their social role and responsibility.

Major in Civil and Architectural Engineering

The educational aim of the Civil and Architectural Engineering School is, through reserch, to train highly skilled engineers with comprehensive knowledge of safe and sustainable urban facilities, public infrastructures and buildings. Three fields constitute a foundation in Civil and Architectural Engineering: "Building Structures", "Public Infrastructure" and "Planning and Environment". Through specialized, multi-disciplinary studies and course works, we aim at training engineers with a broad outlook.

Major in Information Systems and Science

This post-graduate course is committed to develop the practical human resources in advanced information-oriented society. This course provides four educational categories which are composed of computing fundamentals, computer network, application software development and management. And human resources development in this course is pursued on the basis of skill standards for IT professionals recommended by IPA (Information-technology Promotion Agency, Japan).

Major in Environmental Studies

The study and research of this major consists of four main fields, Natural Environmental Science, Science of Dwelling and Regional Environment and Environmental Information Science. Specifically, the following areas of study are covered: understanding the fundamentals of the natural environment and explication of its mechanism of change which influences all other kinds of environment; study of the theories and application of these theories regarding dwelling and regional environments closely related to human life, covering the topics of their planning, designing and control; observation processing and analysis of environmental information utilizing earth observation satellites, and the study of environmental information systems that can make use of obtained data.

Graduate School of Science and Technology (Doctoral Program)

Major in Intelligent Structure and Functional Science

Starting with an introduction to the most recent theories and characteristics of materials, students receive instructions on creating materials that are artificially designed in terms of atoms and molecules and equipped with a variety of characteristic functions. Further, based on the theories and practice of signal processing, they study the construction of intellectual information systems, how to control them and achieve high-level functions, paying special attention to how these tasks relate functionally and in terms of environment and social infrastructure to materials and devices.
