Faculty of Environmental Studies

Department of Architectural Design

Our department takes an interdisciplinary approach to studying the built environment, combining insights from the natural sciences, humanities, and social sciences. Students gain comprehensive training in architectural planning, environmental design, structural engineering, construction management, woodworking, and interior design, along with digital skills. This integrated curriculum provides the foundational knowledge and practical abilities needed for architectural design. We are committed to developing ethical professionals who make meaningful contributions to society.

Education and Research Areas

Our educational programs span three interconnected fields of study that prepare students for the future of design and construction.
  • Architecture

In Architecture, students develop a comprehensive approach to creating sustainable living environments. They delve into building structures, facilities, production methods, and maintenance management, learning to balance both technical requirements and human needs.

  • Interior and Woodworking

The Interior & Woodworking program focuses on creating engaging spaces through thoughtful spatial planning, color theory, and lighting design. Students work extensively with sustainable wood materials, learning to harness their natural properties while developing fundamental design principles through hands-on experience.

  • Architectural Informatics

In Architectural Informatics, students master the digital tools transforming today's design industry. The program emphasizes fundamental digital skills and their practical applications in design, with special attention to Building Information Modeling (BIM) and other information technologies that are reshaping how we approach construction and social systems.
