Department of Information Management

The rapid expansion of data driven by IoT and advancements in the information society holds immense untapped potential for business innovation and problem-solving. Data science offers the tools and methodologies to unlock this potential. By integrating management engineering with data science, and by developing a deeper understanding of applied informatics, students develop the skills needed to excel as IT professionals in the corporate world.
Education and Research Areas
-
Information Technology
Students acquire foundational knowledge of computing, including information theory, programming, algorithms, databases, and basic networking. They also develop expertise in software development, information system design, information management, and security— core areas essential for creating robust and reliable information systems.
-
Management Engineering
To efficiently manage "people," "materials," and "money," students study disciplines such as human resource management, project management, and financial management. They also explore scientific approaches to management through industrial management and operations research.
-
Data Science
Students gain techniques for effectively describing data characteristics, data engineering skills for enabling data processing, and machine learning expertise for data analysis. They also study practical applications of data science in business and advanced technologies for managing and analyzing big data.
